BackThe Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card is a great no annual fee business card if you’re looking for a “catch-all” option. The card is highly flexible whether you’re interested in cash back or travel.
Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card
Earn $750 bonus cash back after you spend $6,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening.
The Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card is a great “everything else” option for your business. If combined with other Chase cards, the points can be substantially more valuable whether you’re using the “Pay Yourself Back” program or redeeming for travel.
Point Multipliers
Earn an unlimited 1.5% cash back on every purchase, and there is no maximum amount you can earn.
Optimal Strategy
The optimal strategy is to use the Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card as a “catch-all” card within your card setup.
For most businesses, your spending is going to be over multiple categories. For areas where you spend a lot, you’d want a specific card (i.e., office supply stores + Ink Cash for 5%/5x). If you spend less on gas, it might not be worth getting a specific card – that’s where the Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card comes into play.
The Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card can also replace the Chase Freedom Unlimited® in a modified Chase Trifecta setup.
Redeeming Points
The card earns Ultimate Reward (UR) points despite the “cash back” marketing. That means 1.5% is really 1.5x UR.
At the very least, points are worth 1 cent per point (1 CPP), so 1.5x = 1.5%.
If combined with other Chase cards (Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card, Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card, Chase Sapphire Reserve®), the points can be worth between 1.25 CPP and 1.5 CPP via travel and Chase’s “Pay Yourself Back” program. This turns 1.5x into 1.875% or 2.25 in value.
Those three cards also enable you to transfer the points to Chase’s airline and hotel partners, which is helpful if you’re looking for aspirational travel (first and business class, etc.)
Alternatives
If your business has very high spend, the Capital One Spark Cash Plus is worth considering. It’s a business card that earns 2% on everything (and can be 2x Capital One miles) but has a $150 annual fee.
If you’re looking for a Chase business card with higher multipliers, the Ink Business Cash® Credit Card might be a better fit.
Ink Business Cash® Credit Card
Earn $350 when you spend $3,000 on purchases in the first three months and an additional $400 when you spend $6,000 on purchases in the first six months after account opening.
The Ink Business Cash® Credit Card is one of the best no-annual fee options available that has competitive multipliers for common business categories. The cash back earned is in points and has substantial upside if used in conjunction with other Chase cards.
Capital One Spark Cash Plus
$2,000 Cash Back once you spend $30,000 in the first 3 months. Earn an additional $2,000 cash bonus for every $500K spent during the first year
If you are a business owner with strong credit who travels frequently and doesn't mind paying a higher annual fee, the Capital One Spark Cash Plus Card may be a good choice. This card has a $150 annual fee, which is higher than some similar cards, but the rewards you can earn can make it worthwhile for travelers.
Main Takeaway
The Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card is a great “everything else” option for your business. If combined with other Chase cards, the points can be substantially more valuable whether you’re using the “Pay Yourself Back” program or redeeming for travel.
